Robotic Gripper for Design 1 Capstone
For my Junior Design 1 capstone project 2 we (Vicki Ponarski, Nalini Jain, Rosie Zhang, Tanvi Shala) were assigned a task to create a lightweight gripper. The task was to hold a metal-based water bottle under dynamic loading while not slipping more than 0.2".
During the design process, students were required to use a combination of:
· Sketching and simple models, including free body diagrams and analyses in symbolic form
· Computer-aided design tools, including static stress analysis and kinematic analysis of the assembly
· Catalog selection processes
· Material selection processes
· Prototype manufacturing and assembling methods
On this page I will outline the steps taken to complete this task including brainstorm, hand analysis, CAD, FEA, and prototyping. As for my other pages this is not comprehensive so please use my contact form if you have further questions about this project.
